It’s no secret that we love local products as much as we love all things eco-friendly. Naturally, we were excited to start carrying bottles, containers, and bags from Fill Your Own last fall. Made from stainless steel and recycled plastic water bottles respectively, their products are BPA free and made to last.

Today, we’re excited all over again because we get to give away 2 of their adorable lunch kits. While all Fill Your Own products are reusable, designed with greener lifestyles in mind, we think the lunch kits are especially important.

Did you know that in the United States more than 20 million plastic baggies are discarded from school lunches every day? Here in Canada, over the course of a school year the average student produces 27 kilograms of garbage from school lunches. Reducing waste from lunches alone is an important goal and a great way to get your kids thinking about ways to use less packaging and create less everyday garbage.

Giveaway Rules:

Fill Your Own Lunch Kit Giveaway is open to individuals who are legal residents of Canada, age 18 or older at time of entry. 2 separate winners will each receive 1 lunch kit (the Prize). To win, participant must post at least (1) comment on the Lusso Baby Blog OR post at least (1) tweet OR like the Lusso Baby Facebook Page. To collect the Prize, the selected entrant must provide contact information, including name, phone number, and email address. If an entrant is found to be ineligible, or if the selected winner cannot accept or receive the Prize for any reason, the potential winner will forfeit the Prize.

    My daughter takes the same thing for each every day: Cheese bun, apple, cherry tomatos, seaweed strips, and gold fish crackers. That’s what I would back in the zero waste lunch kit :-)
