Canada Day Celebrations Around Town!

At Lusso Baby, we’re proud to be Canadian, and we hope you are too!

What are you and the kids doing to celebrate our nation’s 145th birthday this July 1st? If you don’t have any plans yet, be sure to check out some of the popular events going on around the city this year! There’s a ton of free activities for kids and we’re sure your family will have a fantastic time. Just don’t forget to play the part — bring on the spirit and gear up in red and white!

{ Canada Place Parade and Fireworks }

Head down to the heart of downtown Vancouver for all-day, all-free fun and festivities! Just outside of Waterfront, proud Canadians will be celebrating at Canada Place all day long from 10am to 6pm. Stick around till 7pm for the annual Vancouver Canada Day Parade… and if the kids are still up and kicking for more, watch for the Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks in the sky at 10:30pm!

{ Canada Day at Waterfront Park }

The North Vancouver Canada Day Celebration is a free event at Waterfront Park and holds all sorts of fun things to see and do for all ages. The festivities go from 12pm to 4pm and includes rock climbing, a bouncy castle, mini golf and live entertainment!

 

{ North Shore Canada Day Parade }

If you’re going to be out and about and near us, don’t miss the red and white North Shore Canada Day parade! The parade line-up starts on the corner of 13th Street and Grand Boulevard, and goes all the way to Mahon Park. Up early? Join in on the pancake breakfast in the park, on Grand Boulevard near 14th between 8am and 9:30am. Yum!

{ Canada Day on Granville Island }

Granville Island is lively all year long, and Canada Day is definitely no exception! Head down to Granville Island and enjoy all-day extravaganzas including the official Canada Day ceremony, parade, and live entertainment, courtesy of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. All for FREE. Yup, that’s right!

 

{ Canada Day Salmon Festival }

Right by the water at the edge of Richmond, Steveston village celebrate’s “Canada’s biggest little birthday party” for the 67th year! Since 1945, the annual Salmon Festival has been celebrating Canada Day with a parade through the historic Steveston village at 10am, multicultural performances, arts and crafts, and the main event — the famous Salmon Barbeque! For $15 a plate, get a taste of the open fire pit grilled salmon filets. There may be over 1200 pounds, but it disappears quickly!

{ Canada Day at the Burnaby Village Museum }

Celebrate Canada Day at the Burnaby Village Museum against the backdrop of 1920 village streets. With free admission, multi-cultural entertainment, musicians, displays, heritage games and a parade, there’s fun for the whole family! Take your kids on a carousel ride for $2.30 and stick around until 2:30pm to have a slice of delicious birthday cake. Don’t forget your camera, there’s history to be made!
