Celebrate National Child Day
Tomorrow, Saturday November 20th, is National Child Day across Canada. We’re excited to celebrate this weekend, so we wanted to share a bit of information about this holiday.
Adopted in 1993, Child Day celebrates the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child. This treaty establishes and outlines basic human rights for children and youth. Child Day is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about their rights and for adults to appreciate the relationships with the children in their lives.
This weekend, we encourage you to set aside time for a family activity. Head out to your local park for some fresh air and time outdoors. Play your favourite sport, make your favourite meal, or simply spend the afternoon enjoying a fun family game.
