In keeping with our Earth Day theme, I wanted to bring you a few environmentally friendly thoughts keep you eco-loving all day long.

For pregnant mums: You’re probably purchasing a lot of products or choosing what will be on your gift registry to prepare for your child’s arrival. Consider the products you’re choosing on a few levels:

Is the product made from non-toxic, organic or environmentally friendly materials?
Is the product manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner?
Is there a lot of plastic or wasteful packaging?

Recycling is a fantastic eco-friendly choice! You might consider checking if any of your friends have children that have outgrown their nursery furniture. But be sure to also check that they are made from safe, child-friendly, materials.

For new mums: Breastfeeding is the ultimate in eco-friendly feeding! But when its time to start switching to solid foods, you can easily make your own baby food. Not only will you know exactly what your baby is eating, you know the foods are fresh and full of all the essential nutrients that help them grow.

Eco-friendly bonus: You’ll save money too!

As baby grows: Eco-friendly toys and clothing. Wooden toys made from sustainable wood and water-based paints and dyes are great options. There are many manufacturers today focusing on producing products in an environmentally friendly way. The same applies for clothing for your baby. Look for organic cotton, bamboo and hemp.
